Let’s be frank—there are a lot of good eats in Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches. But when it comes to an All-American classic, the hot dog, there’s one local joint that we really relish—Hot Diggity Dogs and BBQ in Bunnell. This small roadside stand didn’t invent the hot dog but they’ve become the unofficial wieners (erm, winners!), of this iconic food in Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches.

A Must-Try Florida Roadside Restaurant

Just off the main drag in Bunnell, a cartoonish, sunglass-clad hot dog waves to drivers from a roadside sign. Next to it—a small, orange-bricked building. The side of the building is a tribute to America, a colorful mural featuring symbolic, patriotic imagery: Mount Rushmore, The Statue of Liberty, a bald eagle, and a space shuttle are splashed across the wall. There’s no inside at this hot dog joint, just a small counter and window to place your order. Seating is around the corner—basic, covered picnic tables. But don’t be fooled by the building. Its simplicity belies the creative eats that await patrons.

A Dog-Gone Good Place to Eat in Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches

The humble hot dog gets a glam-up at Hot Diggity Dogs in Bunnell. Sure, you can get your typical frankfurter, drizzled with tangy mustard. But with more than 15 different specialty hot dogs, we suggest ordering one of the more inventive options. Meat lovers should try the Cowboy Dog—topped with pulled pork, coleslaw, onion straws and BBQ sauce, it’s a hearty, meaty, masterpiece. The Trailer Park Dog, a crushed Frito-topped dog with melted cheddar and coney sauce, is for the adventurous foodie. Want a kick? Go for the salsa-laden Mexican Dog or the Jalapeno Popper! Of course, there’s the classic Chicago Dog for those who stick to the tried and true. Each specialty hot dog is available in four different sizes: regular, foot long, ¼ pound, ½ pound.

Along with delicious dogs—you’ll find plenty of other classic American fare on the menu. Like perfectly salted French fries, hot onion rings, fresh coleslaw, and more satisfying sides. If you’ve gone cold on hot dogs, no worries…you’ll find juicy burgers, barbecue sandwiches, and chicken wings, as well.

With its whimsical take on hot dogs and quirky ambiance, we deem Hot Diggity Dogs and BBQ one of the most unique places to eat in Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches.
