African American Museum and Cultural Center of Florida

  • Overview

African American retirees to Flagler County brought with them cultural, historical, educational, social, and organizational awareness. In the late 1980s, several groups of those individuals were operating youth or cultural programs in the black community. They joined together and Incorporated in 1991 as the African American Cultural Society, Inc. (AACS), a 501(c)3 non-profit, charitable organization. AACS owns and operates the African American Museum and Cultural Center of Florida located in Flagler County, bridging the communities of Palm Coast and Bunnell. For thirty years we have provided exhibitions, programming and services to families and youth in the community, and the local school system, including opportunities for volunteerism and student internships. We want you to have a memorable experience at our cultural center and museum. This is why we offer several ways to let you engage with us. Whether you are a student aspiring to a career in art, history, design, museum studies or the operation of a non-profit organization, or an individual who cares about Florida/American history and the heritage and culture of people of African descent… or perhaps you are simply a couple that wants to get married in an awesome environment.
