Meet Donna Serino, golf pro at Palm Harbor Golf Club in Palm Coast.
Since 2019, she's been helping local golfers perfect their game via her private lessons and clinics.
How did you get your start in golf?
My golf career started late in life at the age of 27. I grew up in Massachusetts and decided to give golf a try. I knew immediately this game would become my passion. I studied and learned how to teach by one of the best teachers in the business, Two-Time Hall of Fame Instructor, Bob Toski. I have been soaking in his wisdom, insight to human emotion and fundamentals of the golf swing for 30 years. I started teaching at Palm Harbor Golf Club in August of 2019.
What makes Palm Harbor Golf Club unique?
The first thing that drew me to PHGC was the driving range. It is always well maintained and has a long, wide tee line so you rarely have to wait for a spot to hit balls. The course also provides a very large putting green and a short game area to work on chipping, pitching and bunker play.
How much is a lesson with you?
I charge $75 for a one hour lesson and $40 for a half hour. Adult clinics are $25 per person. I run junior clinics (ages 7-16) every Saturday for one hour and cost is $20 per child.
What does a typical lesson look like?
Everybody is different and I will help each student find their own swing in a way they like to learn. Whether the student is advanced, intermediate or a new golfer, I will help each student understand cause and effect, give them tools to self correct and have the ultimate goal for more enjoyable golf.
