A Winning Floating Tiki Bar!

Capt. Nick and his Shipwrecks are really creating fun times in Flagler Beach this summer.  We won "BEST OF PARADE" in this year's Fourth of July Parade by converting Johnny D's tiki bar float into a boat.  Capt. Nick sang while the Shipwrecks walked and danced along the route giving out candy to the crowd.  A fun time was had by all!!

Shipwrecks now number over 1400 Capt. Nick fans!  Every one of these are people who either live in or have visited Flagler Beach and want to keep informed about Capt. Nick, his music and the Shipwreck fan club.  Visitors want to know where to find the fun when they return to the area and locals want to know where the fun is every day!!!  A typical show consists of great music, big smiles, laughter, hugs, dancing and singing along.  As the Shipwreck family continues to grow, the fun gets bigger!!!

Capt. Nick is known best as a local singer/songwriter who writes and sings about life in our paradise known as Flagler Beach.  His song "Flagler Beach" talks about this being "the place to be, a touch of heaven down by the sea".  His original song that most captured my husband and my hearts when first heard was "Livin on Island Time" that tells the story of a couple coming here to visit for a weekend, falling in love with the area, and eventually moving here to live out the rest of their lives!  So many people, us included, hear that song, and believe the Captain is telling their personal story!  What a vision we have when we hear him sing "Low tide receded in the easterly direction, sea shells laid out for our daily inspection, all in pursuit of our daily injection, of the sun and the sand and the sea".  He sings about "the pelican squadron on their morning patrol" and it always brings a huge smile to our faces as we envision them flying overhead !!  Wow, this is the life that we live in Flagler Beach, and Capt. Nick knows how to capture the feeling in our hearts through his songs.  If you, or any visitors to Flagler Beach, want a reminder of why we love it here, please come out to a Capt. Nick show and listen to his words through music.  He can be found at Johnny D's on A1A every Monday 5-8, Thursday 3:30-5:30 and Saturday 2-5.  He is also at the BeachHouse Beanery, on A1A every First and Third Friday night 7-9.  You will also get to experience and be welcomed to join The Shipwrecks and will understand why our motto is "We are Shipwrecked in Flagler Beach and don't want to be rescued!"  Please make sure to introduce yourself to me, Ima Wreck!!  Hope to see you around the island!!!
