Life is Short - Boats are Cool!

A special part of visiting or living in Flagler County is the opportunity to enjoy boating opportunities. If you are boatless or never considered owning a boat, my first recommendation is to visit a fantastic website designed to tell you the benefits of owning a boat and how to go about finding the right boat and price for you and your family. The website is called “Discover Boating - Welcome to the Water” and I suggest going to www.discoverboating.com and looking through this site.

Part of my boating time with my wife includes cruising the canals looking at waterfront homes. Even though there is a fair amount of homes with boats attached to their residential dock, there are quite a few homes without boats and many without docks to accommodate a boat. Obviously, boating isn’t for everyone; however, if you have the slightest interest in finding out more about boating, this is a good time to consider your options. When you’re boating, there is a feeling of freedom as you enjoy the water, your family and friends and the beauty of nature. Just think about it; boating includes powerboating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, cruising, and more.

Why is this a good time to take a look at boating? The vast majority of boat shows (a great event to see lots of product in a short period of time) are held during the winter months. The Marine Industries Association of Central Florida is producing the Daytona Boat Show at the Dayton International Speedway, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach on January 9 - 11, 2015. You can find out more details regarding this show at: http://www.daytonaboatshow.com.

If you want to check on previously owned boats, Yacht Brokers Inc. of Palm Coast has a very informative website at: http://www.boatflagler.com. In addition, there are other brokerage firms that can assist you in searching for the right boat for your needs.

If you know friends who own a boat, I suggest that you not be shy about asking them if you can tag along for a boat ride. The more you experience boating in Flagler County, the more you will realize boating is part of the Flagler County lifestyle. Your fiends are probably like me. I love to take friends out on our boat and I have yet to disappoint any of them.

One of my friends that owns and operates a boat dealership in Michigan uses a slogan that I love - Like is Short - Boats are Cool and I hope he doesn’t mind that I share that with you because life IS short and it is time for you to find out why boats ARE cool.
